The Russell B. Aitken Gallery of firearms is devoted to hunting and sporting weapons as intricate and evocative works of art, featuring richly decorated European firearms, crossbows, and accessories from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century.
Examples highlight the art of the gun maker from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical periods, including weapons that belonged to Emperor Charles V and King Louis XIII of France.
