Works, mostly of minor arts, from the period of the Ramesses kings of Dynasty 19 and 20 (ca. 1300–1070 B.C.) include ceramic tiles from a throne dais found at Qantir, the kings' residence in the Delta. Other objects are connected with the workmen who decorated the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Noteworthy is a collection of sketches on bits of limestone, which reveal an unusual immediacy and, often, humor; some refer to popular stories not covered by conventional art.
