The reliefs exhibited in this space come from a chapel that King Seti I (ca. 1294–1279 B.C.) built for his father, Ramesses I, at Abydos. The center scene shows the two kings worshiping the "fetish" of Osiris, god of the underworld and main deity at the pilgrimage site of Abydos; another shows Ramesses' face with signs of age: a rare example of realism in the representation of a royal individual.
