As part of the Annie Laurie Aitken Galleries, this gallery shows English decorative arts and paintings from the second half of the eighteenth century. It includes a large marble mantelpiece attributed to Michael Rysbrack from Chesterfield House, as well as the so-called monkey door from Norfolk House. Among the furniture are various pieces based on designs by Thomas Chippendale as well as pair of japanned standing shelves of 1753–54 by John and William Linnell from the Chinese bedroom at Badminton House. Also noteworthy is the commode executed in a French manner in 1764 by Pierre Langlois for Croome Court. Pieces of porcelain from various English factories are on display, as are portraits by Joshua Reynolds.
