This arcaded gallery is installed to reflect the custom of lining European palace corridors with portrait busts of rulers and distinguished citizens. Some of the great artists of the period, from Guillaume Coustou to Augustin Pajou, are represented by work that demonstrates the stylistic shift from the Baroque to the Rococo. Alongside the busts are several large-scale sculptures and tapestries.
