The André Mertens Galleries for Musical Instruments include five rooms that house musical instruments arranged by region, with European instruments organized by type (winds, keyboards, strings, and percussion), and the instruments of Asia, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas represented by instruments unique to traditions of those areas. The Crosby Brown Collection of Musical Instruments is displayed in this room.
Many of the instruments may be heard on an Audio Guide; guided tours are available several times a week and monthly concerts/demonstrations are provided during the academic year.
