Dedicated to eighteenth- and nineteenth-century paintings, Gallery 957 displays distinguished portraits by French and British artists, as well as several French landscapes, primarily by members of the Barbizon School. Among the highlights are Monet's Landscape near Zaandam and Ingres's arresting portrait of the Princesse de Broglie, in which he brilliantly transcribes the texture of satin, lace, and jewels.
