The Henry R. Luce Center for the Study of American Art is a visible-storage facility that displays more than ten thousand works of American fine and decorative art. Objects are arranged by material (paintings, sculpture, furniture and woodwork, glass, ceramics, silver, and metalwork), and within these categories they are arranged by chronology and form. Works of art that are sensitive to light, such as drawings, watercolors, textiles, and portrait miniatures, are not on view but can be seen by appointment. A digital catalogue of the American Wing collections is accessible on two public computer terminals within the center.
