Scarabs made from hard stone, which is difficult to carve, are not common in the New Kingdom. This one bears the prenomen and nomen of Amenhotep I.
Inscription: The Perfect God Djeserkare, Son of Re Amenhotep
Excavated by Lord Carnarvon and Howard Carter, 1910-1911. Acquired by Carnarvon in the division of finds. Carnarvon Collection purchased by the Museum from Lady Carnarvon, 1926.
