Nesmin was a priest for the god Min in Akhmim. His father was also a priest and he was named Djedhor. Nesmin's mother was a musician for Min called Tadiaset. Nesmin's name and that of his father are inscribed on the cartonnages that are on Nesmin's mummy. His coffin, which is also in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum (86.1.50a, b), includes the names of both his parents.
Excavated at Akhmim by the Egyptian Antiquities Service. Purchased from the Egyptian Government, 1886.
