*This provenance assumes that the salver descended along with the pair of salts by Charles Le Roux (35.68.2-.3) and the chafing dish by Peter Van Dyck (35.68.1). All of these objects were sold to the Metropolitan by Mrs. Wodell in 1935, with the information that they had descended in the Schuyler family. She was the widow of Van Rensselaer Schuyler, and later of Silas Wodell.
