This small quilt has nine blocks in the Chimney Sweep pattern. The blocks are pieced of plain white woven cotton and calico printed in shades of brown, red, and orange. The backing is also of white cotton, while the edge binding is of a more tightly woven white cotton. The piece is completely hand stitched, and it is quilted in parallel lines in the plain areas and in a large diamond grid in the pieced blocks.
