The following personnages in the relief have been identified in addition to Charles V: springing from the triumphal arch, the Count Palatine Friedrich II; to the left, at the edge of the bridge, carrying a broad axe, Kunz von der Rosen; to the right of the arch, among the women, Willibald Pirkheimer; among the strugglers in the waves, Franz von Sickingen.
