Imperial Privilege: Vienna Porcelain of Du Paquier, 1718-44:Derived from French ornament, Laub- und Bandelwerk was used by artists working in many different media. It is often found either molded or engraved in silver, such as on the French beaker [48.187.101], but porcelain enabled the introduction of brilliant color. On the porcelain beaker, the fluted form is highlighted by alternating pendant ornaments, a technique also found on the silver example.
