  • Description

    [Group label : 17.194.166 and 17.194.172]
These two vessels seem to form a pair and probably come from the same glass workshop, although they are said to have been found at different places—one at Troyes in Gaul (France) and the other at Cologne in Germany. Their unweathered surfaces make them look like black-glazed pottery—and this may have been intentional—but they are in fact made of a translucent, dark-green glass. The indented beaker has a fine trail of light-blue glass around the shoulder.

  • Provenance

    Said to be from Cologne
