This artwork is currently on display in Gallery 301
This oval-shaped dish with a handle at each end is a modest example of a type found throughout the Empire, but especially in the West. The simple volute pattern on the handles suggests an owner attracted to classical decorative motifs, an observation confirmed by the round platter found with it (47.100.31).
