  • Description

    To prepare ink for calligraphy or painting, a Joseon literatus might have used this instrument to drip water onto an inkstone then ground an ink stick into the water. Porcelain water droppers, in whimsical shapes and with or without painted decoration, became fashionable during the nineteenth century.
