Tsujimura Yui's creations use clay from Shigaraki and Iga and are inspired by the techniques and aesthetics of antique Sue-ware traditions. As exemplified by this robust jar, one of Yui's trademarks is the elegant use of natural ash glaze. The green and blue streaks on this piece, running sideways because the vessel was fired on its side, create an organic pattern.
