  • Signatures, Inscriptions, and Markings

    Inscription: The old mount is annotated in graphite on recto: "Guercino/ from Wm. Young Ottley Coll.n/ from the Jonathan Richardson Coll.n.". Initials "WYO" in elision of William Young Ottley (Lugt 2665), written in pen and brown ink, center of verso of old mount. The verso is annotated as we can see in transparency: a letter.

    Marking: Stamp of Jonathan Richardson, Jr. (Lugt 2179) on lower right recto. No watemark visible: sheet glued on to an old mount.
