Electronic Resources Available at the Hazen Center
The Lita Annenberg Hazen and Joseph H. Hazen Center for Electronic Information Resources makes the following electronic reference resources available to Museum staff and qualified researchers.

Acquisition List of the German Archaeological Institute in Madrid 1991–present
This subject catalog comprises all aspects of archae ology on the Iberian Peninsula with special regard to Jewish and Islamic history.

Allgemeines Kunstlerlexikon Internationale Kunstlerdatenbank
A biographical dictionary of artists. Includes approximately 275,000 individual artists and 4,000 artist families or groups, based on the articles previously published in Thieme-Becker, Vollmer and the first 14 volumes of the Allgemeines Kunstlerlexikon.

America: History and Life 1964 - present
Indexes periodical articles on the history of the United States and Canada.

American Book Prices Current 1975–present
This disc contains two databases: one for books, maps, broadsides and other printed material; the other for autographs, manuscripts, documents, signed photographs, and other material that is entirely or partly handwritten. All of these are records of items actually sold at public auction in North America, England, Germany, Monaco, The Netherlands, Italy, Australia and other countries.

L'Année Philologique 1969–1999
All aspects of Greco-Roman antiquity: ancient Greek and Latin language and linguistics, Greek and Roman history, literature, philosophy, art, archaeology, religion, mythology, music, science, early Christian texts, numismatics, papyrology, and epigraphy from the second millenium B.C. through the early middle ages (c. 500 B.C.–A.D. 100). (This database includes the years formerly covered by the Database of Classical Bibliography or DCB.)

Anthropological Literature 19th century–present
A bibilographic index to articles and essays on anthropology and archaeology, including art history, demography, economics, psychology, and religious studies. Updated quarterly, Anthropological Literature indexes articles two or more pages long in works published in English and European languages.

Art Index 1929–present
Indexes more than 300 art, architecture, decorative-arts, craft, and interior-design periodicals. Abstracts and full-text of articles are offered on some of the journals.

Art Museum Image Consortium (AMICO)
A searchable image database of nearly 20,000 cataloged and indexed works of art from participating AMICO members.

Art Sales Index 1970–present
Provides access to the Art Sales Index database of over 2.4 million entries of fine art by 195,000 artists that have sold at auction. It is being continually updated not only with the latest catalogues, but also with a collection of catalogues for Christie's and Sotheby's dating back to 1920.

Art Theorists of the Italian Renaissance
The database is a collection of treatises on art and architecture from the period 1470 to 1775. It is structured around the two Italian editions of Giorgio Vasari's Lives of the Artists.

Art 20: The Thames and Hudson Multimedia Dictionary of Modern Art
Over 2,500 entries including artist biographies, movements, galleries, collectors and critics of modern art.

ARTbibliographies Modern 1974–present
Indexes periodicals, books, dissertations, essays, exhibition reviews, and exhibition catalogs of modern art. Modern art is defined as beginning with Impressionism and continuing through today's latest art trends. Covers all aspects of modern and contemporary art, including performance art and installation works, video art, computer and electronic art, body art, graffiti, artists' books, theater arts, crafts, jewelry, illustration, and more, as well as the traditional fine arts of painting, printmaking, sculpture, and drawing.

Antiques and Collectibles (decorative arts) and Fine Art index of sales catalogs from more than 50 auction houses from around the world.

AskART
Extensive information about 26,000 American artists. Includes biographic, bibliographic, and auction information for American artists.

Avery Architectural Database 1979–present
Indexes journal articles on architecture, architectural design, landscape architecture, historic preservation, interior design, city planning, conservation, and legal issues.

BHA (Bibliography of the History of Art) 1991–present, RILA (Répertoire International de la Littèrature de l'Art) 1975–1989, RAA (Répertoire d'Art et d'Archéologie) 1973–1989
Bilingual scholarly bibliographic database on the history of post-classical Western art (4th century on). Includes fine arts, architecture, decorative and applied arts, industrial design, popular and folk art, and material culture; includes book and exhibition reviews.

Beazley Archive
Includes images from the Beazley Archive of Greek and Roman pottery, located at Oxford University, as well as casts of Greek and Roman sculpture and a dictionary with images.

Bibliography of Asian Studies 1971–present
Indexes western-language monographs, articles, and book chapters on all parts of Asia.

Biography and Genealogy Master Index
Biography and Genealogy Master Index is a comprehensive index to more than 12.7 million biographical sketches in more than 3,400 volumes and editions of current and retrospective reference books, covering both contemporary and historical figures throughout the world.

Biography Index 1984–present
Coverage includes English-language periodicals and more than 1,800 books added each year. Includes autobiographies, bibliographies, biographies, critical studies, fiction and drama, pictorial works, poetry, juvenile literature, obituaries, journals, collections of letters, book reviews, and interviews.

CHIN: Canadian Heritage Information Network
Conservation Information Network (BCIN) indexes conservation literature, including the Art and Archaeology Technical Abstracts, technical reports, conference proceedings, journal articles, books and audiovisual and unpublished materials.

Catalogue de l'Ecole Biblique et Archeologique Francaise de Jerusalem
An extensive index to 115,000 volumes and 400 active journals specializing in biblical studies, Near Eastern archeology, and ancient Middle Eastern languages and literature.

Census of Antique Works of Art and Architecture Known in the Renaissance.
Begun in print format in 1946, this ongoing database indexes and illustrates antique sculpture and architecture documented as being known in the Renaissance. Images are provided when available, and each entry is cited with historical documentation and a modern bibliography. The database allows for complex searching.

Columbia Gazetteer of the World
The online version of the definitive English-language encyclopedia of places and geographical features.

Corpus of Antique Works of Art Known to Johann Joachim Winckelmann and His Contemporaries
A database of 2,200 monuments mentioned in Winckelmann's work, with the history of their influence. Includes 5,000 images and 12,000 documents regarding the history of these objects in modern times.

The Craftsman
183 complete and unabridged issues of "The Craftsman Magazine" with every picture, article, and advertisement included. Currently issues from October 1901–1904 are available. Additional issues through 1916 will be added. Also includes "The New Craftsman Index," which allows searches by subject and person.

Design and Applied Arts Index 1973–present
DAAI is an international index containing over 100,000 annotated references from more than 450 design and craft journals from 1973–1000.

Dictionary of American Biography
This CD-ROM includes records on the lives of prominent Americans who died by December 31, 1980.

Dissertation Abstracts International 1861–present
Dissertations written in all academic subjects at accredited institutions.

Dyabola 1956–present
The online version of Archaeologische Bibliographie, an annual bibliography of publications on classical art and archaeology. Dyabola indexes books, book reviews, journals, conference proceedings, and Festschriften.

Encyclopedia Britannica
Britannica Online is a fully searchable and browsable collection of authoritative references, including Britannica's latest article database, hundreds of articles not found in the print Britannica, Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary (Tenth Edition), the Britannica Book of the Year, and thousands of links to other World Wide Web sites selected by Britannica editors.

Encyclopedia of Philosophy (Routledge)
Included are over 2,000 articles covering the broadest range of topics in the philosophical canon as well as philosophy from all continents and all periods.

L'Encyclopedie

Getty Provenance Index

The complete Grove Dictionary of Art (Macmillan Press) available full-text and completely searchable.

Historical Abstracts 1954-present
Indexes periodical articles on world history from 1450 to present (excludes the U.S. and Canada, which are covered in America: History and Life)

Humanities Index 1984–present
Indexes over 400 humanities periodicals. Abstracts and full-text are available for some titles. A password is required.

ITER 1843–present
A bibliographic database of approximately 135,000 records from secondary materials published in over 300 journals covering the cultural aspects of the Renaissance in Europe from 1300–1700.

I on Art 1990–present
I on Art is an image database of old master paintings that have passed through the major international auctions. The record for each painting includes artist, title, medium and dimensions, provenance, literature cited, auction house, date of sale, price, exchange rate, and conversion. Criteria for inclusion: artists who worked up to the end of the 19th century and paintings which are illustrated in an auction catalog and where the estimate or hammer prices is over £2,000. Prices are announced by the auction house (some houses do not include the buyer's premium).

Index to worldwide literature in European languages on Islam, the Middle East and the Muslim World.

Index of Christian Art
A thematic/iconographic index of early Christian and Medieval art objects from early apostolic times to 1400 A.D. with no geographical limitations.

JSTOR
JSTOR (Journal Storage) is an online archive of periodical titles, providing access to the entire journal content including text and images. All journals start at volume one, and continue to within three to five years of the current subscription.

Indexes the records of sales of paintings, prints, pastels, drawings, gouaches, watercolours, mixed media, and sculptures from more than 800 auction houses in 40 countries.

Medici Archives 1537–1743

The New Oxford Annotated Biblical Reference Library
The New Oxford Annotated Biblical Reference Library on CD-ROM contains the New Oxford annotated Bible (new revised standard version with the Apocryphal/Deuterocanonical Books, with readings and dates for the Revised Common Lectionary and the Lectionary of the Episcopal Church), the Oxford Companion to the Bible, and the New Oxford Bible Maps.

New York Times Historical Newspapers from ProQuest (1851–1999)
This database provides access to a fully searchable digitized image of every page of the New York Times from its first issue in 1851 to 1999. It provides digitized historical New York Times articles in downloadable PDF files.

The Oxford English Dictionary
The OED is the authoritative dictionary on the history and development of the English language since 1105. This historical dictionary of English includes current meanings, etymological analysis, and extensive quotations from a wide range of international English-language sources.

Periodical Contents Index 1770–1995
PCI Full Text is a major online periodical archive that makes available the full image of periodical articles in the humanities and social sciences.

Readers' Guide Abstracts 1983–present
Indexes over 300 popular, newsstand periodicals published in the United States and Canada. Abstracts and full-text are available for some titles.

SCIPIO: Art and Rare Book Sales Catalogs
SCIPIO: Art and Rare Book Sales Catalogs describes art auction and rare book catalogs for sales from the late sixteenth century to scheduled auctions not yet held. Records include the dates and places of sales, the auction houses, sellers, institutional holdings, and titles of works. SCIPIO is updated daily.

Subject Catalogue of the German Archaeological Institute in Rome 1956–present
A subject catalog that indexes books, journals, conference proceedings, book reviews, and Festschriften acquired by one of the most comprehensive libraries devoted to classical studies.

An index of periodicals. Includes price, address, and more, and is especially useful in finding where a particular title is indexed.

A catalog of academic, public, and special libraries' catalogs. Over 40 million bibliographic records included.
