The Museum's Artist in Residence program presents yearlong artistic partnerships that provide unique responses to the Met's permanent collection and galleries. These collaborations between artists, performers, and the Museum's educators and curators include site-specific commissions, world-premiere performances, workshops, and tours for various audiences.
The artist-residency program launched its inaugural season in 2012–13 with the artist Paul D. Miller, a.k.a., DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid, in an unprecedented series of programs entitled The Met Reframed. For year two of the program, we partner with Alarm Will Sound, one of the most creative ensembles working today.
