Art programs for children of Members at the Family/Dual ($200) level and above offer students the unique experience of learning about art, either in a studio setting or in the Museum's galleries.
Get creative while discovering art in the Museum's studios and galleries! Children explore the Museum's world-renowned collections to learn about visual art concepts such as line, shape, color, value, pattern, texture, balance, form, scale, and composition. They develop their own art portfolio through studio activities including painting, collage, sculpting, building, bookmaking, printmaking, and drawing.
Art Afternoons classes, led by artists and Museum educators Electra Askitopoulos Friedman and Barbara Woods, are for children ages 5–9 years old only. This is a drop-off program. Classes are limited to 17 children; space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Fee: $330 for the twelve-session semester
Art Afternoons: Spring 2014
Registration closes February 17.
