This month's program in the Museum's Patti Cadby Birch Court celebrates the exhibition The Sacred Lute: The Art of Ostad Elahi with a Persian concert featuring a series of intricate and moving pieces from Ostad Elahi's repertoire. Sina Elahi—Ostad Elahi's grandson and a master tanbūr player—will be joined by master setar player Matthew Malek and percussion specialist Poorya Forghani for a unique blend of mystical and contemporary pieces on the tanbūr, setar, and daf.

The Moroccan Court Music Series is made possible by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art and The Persepolis Foundation.

The exhibition is made possible in part by the Nour Foundation.
