Alain de Botton, author of How Proust Can Change Your Life and a leader of London’s The School of Life, celebrates the centenary of the publication of the first volume of Marcel Proust’s masterpiece In Search of Lost Time with a lecture on the story and ultimate spell cast by a book publication that, baffling to so many on its first appearance, has improbably become one of the most beloved books of our time.
