This program explores composers of Japanese descent who have developed distinct musical voices in different parts of the world. 

Program:
Akira Nishimura (b. 1953): String Quartet No. 5, “Shesha” (2013)
Kojiro Umezaki (b. 1968): shakuhachi solo
Kojiro Umezaki (b. 1968): (Cycles) what falls must rise, for shakuhachi, string quartet, and electronics (2009)
Paul Wiancko (b. 1983): LIFT (2016)
