Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month 2009

The Museum commemorated Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month with an afternoon of music and dance on May 16, 2009. The event, organized by the Multicultural Audience Development Initiative and made possible by Aetna, showcased the visual and performing arts of China, Korea, India, and Japan. The event began with a brief talk about related Asian Art collections and special exhibitions Arts of the Ming Dynasty: China's Age of Brilliance; Art of the Korean Renaissance, 1400–1600; Living Line: Selected Indian Drawings from the Subhash Kapoor Gift, as well as the Met's Arts of Japan galleries.
