Delve into the dynamic New York art scene of the 1910s and 1920s in this exhibition, which presents wood sculptures from West and Central Africa alongside works by avant-garde artists—including Alfred Stieglitz, Pablo Picasso, and Constantin Brancusi—and re-creates the context in which African artifacts were first appreciated in America as fine art.
