Talks

Talks in the galleries are free with Museum admission and do not require tickets or reservations unless otherwise noted. These programs are geared toward an adult audience.

Gallery Talks

Engage directly with works of art in the galleries through talks led by curators, conservators, educators, and invited specialists. Talks focus on specific aspects of the collection or on special exhibitions.

Conversations with Curators and Conservators

Join in lively dialogue with curators, conservators, or scientists about objects that especially intrigue them.

Artists on Artworks

See the Met's collection through artists' eyes. Each artist discusses works of art in the collection that have influenced his or her own work.

How Did They Do That?

Peek at technique—through handling tools and materials—and learn how works of art were created. Each afternoon program is divided into thirty-minute demonstrations. Open to visitors of all ages.

The Observant Eye

Gather with other college and graduate students and curiously minded young adults, and engage in deep discussion and close observation in the Museum's galleries on Friday evenings.
