Памятники искусства Древней Греции от доисторической эпохи до эпохи эллинизма, искусство Древнего Рима: настенная живопись, скульптура, декоративное искусство.

An introduction to five thousand years of art from the early Cycladic period in the fifth millennium b.c. to the time of Constantine in the fourth century a.d. Geographically, the objects come from every major part of the Greek and Roman world and represent every major artistic medium. The new Roman Art galleries include the reinstallation of the cubiculum from the Villa at Boscoreale and the black bedroom from Boscotrecase. Together with the Roman wall paintings they represent a collection unrivaled outside of Italy. The mezzanine contains the Etruscan collection with the reassembled Etruscan chariot as well as a new study area with objects from the entire cultural and chronological span of the department's exceptional collection. The opening of the new Hellenistic, Etruscan, and Roman galleries with their dramatic, skylit Leon Levy and Shelby White Court completes the reconstruction and reinstallation of the Classical collection.
