The collections of the Michael C. Rockefeller Wing represent seminal artistic achievements developed by native peoples from many large areas of the world: Africa south of the Sahara, the islands of the Pacific, and North and South America. Objects viewed in the tour date from as early as 2000 b.c. to our own time. Highlights of the tour include the dramatic installation of the art of the many islands of Oceania, and the gallery devoted to the art of Native North America.
