Arts of Japan

The collection of Asian art at the Metropolitan is the largest and most comprehensive in the West. This tour presents an introduction to the Museum's full range of Japanese art, from the Neolithic to the modern. Highlights include Buddhist and Shinto ritual objects, secular art in a wide variety of media, screens, prints, and paintings. Textiles and prints rotate every four months and paintings every six months.
