The Robert Lehman Collection, one of America's greatest private collections, was assembled over a seventy-year period by Philip Lehman and his son Robert. The tour presents masterpieces of European painting that include celebrated works by Botticelli, El Greco, Rembrandt, Goya, Ingres, Renoir, Bonnard, and Balthus. In addition to paintings, the collection includes exceptional examples of Old Master drawings, manuscript illuminations, furniture, majolica, tapestries, Venetian glass, and other European decorative arts. A large part of the collection is exhibited in galleries designed to reflect the ambience of the Lehman townhouse in New York City.
