Peel back the layers of nineteenth-century still life paintings with a Met educator and one of today's most influential food writers. Look closely at Raphaelle Peale's Still Life with Cake and James Peale's Still Life: Balsam Apple and Vegetables as you uncover why these works of art were painted and learn about the foods they depict.

Experiments

Teens ages 15 through 18 are invited to get inspired by the Museum's masterpieces as they create their own.
