Discover Rajasthan's great Hindu and Jain temples, and explore the less-visited regions of Kashmir and Punjab in India's northwest. From Delhi, fly to Srinagar to visit the Sri Pratap Singh Museum and see the eighth-century Martand Surya Temple. Cruise on Srinigar's Dal Lake, and stroll through the beautiful Mughal gardens. In Amritsar, discover the splendid Golden Temple, where the Holy Book of Sikhs (Granth Sahib) was installed in 1604. Travel to Chandigarh to admire Le Corbusier architecture and tour the Chandigarh Museum. See the Hindu and Jain temples in Osian, and visit massive Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. Conclude in Udaipur—known for its fairytale palaces, peaceful lakes, unique temples, and colorful bazaars. Optional Agra postlude.
