This artwork is currently on display in Gallery 999
In 1896 excavators at Antinoë, in Egypt, discovered a male body dressed in Persian fashion. This coat was around his shoulders. Its long sleeves, flared sides, rectangular neckline, and overlapping chest panel are characteristic of Persian riding coats. Most examples are dyed turquoise or red, possibly indicating rank or function.
