Negative date: November 1935. This photograph printed on post card stock is the lower right hand portion of an 8x10" negative in the collection of the Library of Congress. When Evans published the whole negative in American Photographs, he titled the photograph: "View of Easton, Pennsylvania". Easton, PA and Phillipsburg, New Jersey are on opposite sides of the Delaware River. Easton is also the confluence of the Lehigh and Delaware Rivers. If the view in the whole negative is across the Lehigh, then the lower portion of the negative is Pennsylvania and not New Jersey as is cataloged here. The L of C negative number for the 8x10 is : LC-USF342-1163A.
