On the ground floor of a fortified pavilion, Krishna and Balarama are meeting, attended by a group of men. Above, a group of women sit before a pair of doors painted with depictions of Krishna and his beloved Radha. Outside, four processions of charioteers, horsemen, and foot soldiers depart toward the cardinal directions, led by standard bearers on elephants. The overall miniaturized scale of this work is highly unusual and quite magical.
