  • Description

During the late eighteenth dynasty, men wrapped pleated shawls around their
hips, over their calf-length tunics. The shawl was tied at the front, and the longer
end was tucked into the gathered material, creating a flounced pouchlike apron.
This shawl, which dates from earlier in the eighteenth dynasty, is not pleated.

  • Provenance

Museum excavations, 1935–1936. Acquired by the Museum in the division of finds, 1936.
