Found 1893 in a chamber tomb in the area of the lower city of Mycenae. The painted scenes were applied to a reused sandstone sculptured stele, of a type similar to that used for the shaft graves of the Grave Circles at Mycenae. Gillieron has faithfully represented in plaster the limestone carving, which was stuccoed in antiquity and then painted on the front with at least three horizontal registers including a central scene with warriors, another scene with animals. On the sides are representations of altars with incurving sides. The original is in the National Archaeological Museum, Athens.
