    Excavated 1876 in Shaft Grave IV, Grave Circle A, Mycenae.

    This is one of 53 identical gold sheet ornaments in the shape of an octopus that were found together in Shaft Grave IV. These ornaments were likely sewn onto clothing.

    The original is in the National Archaeological Museum, Athens.
