  • Description

    Found at Mycenae.

This reproduction is based on a dagger handle made of a white vitreous material with gold inlay. The blade and circular blue glass inlays are completely restored. Gillieron used ivory, which had to be carved not cast, to imitate the porcelain. While the color of the original inlays is not known, it is likely that they would have contrasted with the white of the handle as Gillieron has done.

The original is in the National Archaeological Museum, Athens.
