Guards in blue-gray uniforms are stationed in every section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They help visitors find their way around the galleries, and they watch to make sure that no damage is done to works of art. At the end of the day, guards escort visitors out of the building. Watchmen patrol the building when the Museum is closed to visitors.
