Landscape

Kiefer's "heavy cloud" of molten lead has a "radiation leak," represented by the yellow shellac streaks seeping from the bottom of the cloud toward the bleak landscape beneath. As he did in other works of 1984-85, Kiefer here used a manipulated black-and-white photograph of a desolate landscape.
