In the Mary and Michael Jaharis Galleries of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, you can survey outstanding works of art from the transfer of the capital of the Roman Empire to Constantinople (now Istanbul, Turkey) in 330 through the fall of the Byzantine Empire to the Ottoman Turks in 1453.
