This design, signed by designer Frederick Wilson and dated 1905, is a proposal
for one of six figural windows based on the beatitudes for the balcony
of the Arlington Street Church in Boston. Tiffany's firm had already
provided stained glass for the church's main floor. A highly finished
rendering, the delicate washes of the medium aptly evoke the final
opalescent glass. A more sumptuous presentation than most, the drawing
is mounted in a green cloth-covered portfolio with the Tiffany Studios'
monogram on the cover.
