The number of colors mixed together in the glass that was blown
into this vessel is almost limitless. Blues, purples, greens, and
reds in many shades are marbleized together in this diminutive vase,
one of the earliest documented examples of Tiffany's work in blown
glass. A label originally affixed to the bottom of the piece was
printed: TIFFANY FABRILE GLASS. Tiffany initially coined his glass
with the name "Fabrile," shortly afterward changing it to his trademark,
"Favrile."
