The superb achievement of the Unicorn Tapestries began with an artist's design rendered in silk and wool by medieval weavers. Modern weavers use the same basic tools and techniques, as demonstrated at the Metropolitan Museum by a weaver from DeWit Royal Manufacturers of Tapestry, N.V., Belgium.
