Tapestry weaving takes place on a loom, a large structure that holds the warp or foundation threads in place. The warp threads are measured by stretching them on a board or frame, then they are attached to the front and back beams of the loom. This "low warp" loom holds the warp threads horizontally, and the weaver sits at the front.
