What is the creature standing on?

Look carefully at the objects that surround the beast's legs. Can you guess what these might be? The beast stands among rocklike forms that have been simplified so as to give the impression of ragged peaks.

Can you describe the relationship between the beast and the mountain landscape?

Look carefully at the size of his head and arms in comparison to his legs and feet. The lower part of the creature's body is smaller in comparison to his top half. The rocks also appear much smaller than his upper body. In this way, the artist made it look as though the beast is towering over his surroundings and his face is reaching out toward you. Does this make him seem more threatening?
