Madame Paul-Sigisbert Moitessier, née Marie-Clotilde-Inès de Foucauld, Standing
One of the earliest drawings for Madame Moitessier, Standing shows her right arm resting on the back of a chair. Ingres found his final pose in this drawing, by placing the sitter's right arm against her stomach. Sumptuous accessories, such as the flowers in Madame Moitessier's hair and her jewelry, were among the final touches Ingres added to the painting.
